This is a simple story. The found footage format works really well. The acting is very believable for the situation. The setting and effects are good. This movie is one of the best in the alien found footage genre.

Before the blair Witch project, three other films made movies that looked like home movies. One was Cannabal Holocaust, which I never saw, the second was the last broadcast which was pretty boring, and the third was Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County, which was great.

The plot involves a family named the Mcphersons, they are about to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner, when the lights go out. Three of them go out to fix it, and what they find is something that could change our world forever. I won't spoil any more of it, you really should watch it.

It's creepy, scary, and unique. Though it isn't the most realistic of these camcorder films. But, when you think about it, none of them really are.

It's official, aliens creep me the F out. They're just so damn weird and scary. After the disappointing The Fourth Kind, I decided to revisit this cheap little movie. I remembered it being campy and hokey, but apparently I was wrong. This was a lot scarier than I remembered and did have a fairly natural feel. There were some obvious attempts at character development, which got in the way, such as th forced "Oh, my sisters boyfriend is black and I'm not comfortable with this BLAH BLAH BLAH". Also some of the aliens methods were just pretty confusing, such as making two people kiss. What it does is avoid cheap jump scenes whilst gradually building to a climax of fear.

I have seen this movie a few times now, each time I watch it , I really enjoy this movie .

Teenage boy filming his family thanksgiving before they can cut the turkey, they get disturbed by things from another world!

I like how the movie did not take to long to get going , the movie flowed really well , the first half of movie was really fast past.

A lot of strange things started to happen to the family , I really enjoyed those , they made it look so real (I know it not ) .

There were some calm scenes in the middle part of the movie, we. suited the movie really, it did not last, as more odds things started happen again

I really liked the fact the lite girl had some sort of connection with aliens some how, which strange in A good way.

The acting in this movie was really good , in mostly places, there few actors in some scenes could have been better.

When I saw the ending of this movie, I thought the ending was good and creepy at the time, it seeing again made me think. (Aliens did not seem to that creepy this time around)

Would it have been so better if we never saw the aliens at the end, if the movie? , should have left to are oen imagination!

I am going to give this movie 8 out of 10

A typical family of American morons gathered together to celebrate a traditional American occasion. But in the midst of chance, some unannounced guests arrive, they are coming from far far away, from the alien land, just to "experiment on a terrestrial cow". Nothing more logical, right? We do not see at all the aliens but we should be afraid of them. Why? Because thousands of morons decided so in the last 100 of years. Except two famous productions signed Steven Spielberg, in most movies on the same subject, the aliens are ugly, bad, destructive, etc. Did somebody thought that all this actually reflect the evil and ugliness of the human race, the evil and ugliness of those who imagined, written and filmed all these stupid stories? Did somebody thought that the real aliens (because I really believe they exist...), they are like us, the human race (those mentally sane), and even we come from somewhere far far away in the outer space? Do we really need such s..t like this film and thousands others like this? I say a resounding NO!

ALIEN ABDUCTION: THE MCPHERSON TAPE is an early entry in the found footage genre, beating THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT to the cinemas by over a year and THE LAST BROADCAST by nine months, although of course it's relatively new compared to Ruggero Deodato's granddaddy of the genre, the Italian nasty CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST. So how does it hold up for modern audiences?

Reasonably well, I thought. The film's pacing is spot on, with inexplicable events gradually building towards all-out terror at the climax, and the single location scenario put to good use throughout. It has dated in places, though; the aliens and their spaceship are too explicitly shown, looking like X-FILES rejects rather than an actual menace, and keeping them off the screen would have made for a more realistic production.

The worst thing about this is the calibre of the acting: too many of the performances are shrill and histrionic, with a good half hour of the footage consisting of people shrieking at each other. I can't imagine many viewers would want to sit through that. Elsewhere, though, it's genuinely unsettling, particularly with its handling of unexplained disappearances. The faux interviews that pop up throughout the movie serve to build on the atmosphere but occasionally interrupt the pace. Oddly, the film this most reminded me of was that low-budget sci-fi stinker of the 1970s, THE DAY TIME ENDED.
